Good Baby bags Coronation Cup

GOOD BABY added the Coronation Cup to his collection of big wins when he triumphed in the 1600m set-weight event for the first time here today.

Having finished third in the Cup last year and in 2012, the Australian gelding made no mistake the third time around as he easily accounted for eight rivals to win two lengths in the Cup which has its prizemoney slashed from last year's RM700,000 to just RM300,000.

Nevertheless, GOOD BABY proved his class once again in the big races, having won the Magic Millions Classic in 2011, the Sultan Gold Vase in 2012 and the Sprint Trophy and Selangor Gold Cup last year.

But this is his first win for trainer Ooi Chin Chin, also providing the first-season trainer with his first big win. In all, GOOD BABY has won 11 races in 37 starts.

LITTLEBITOFJOY, winner of the Perak Derby on this track in April last year, finally regained his winning form to win the RM125,000 Charity Cup over 1800m, providing trainer Edylyn Goh only her second win of the season.

For budding apprentice Amirul Ismadi, it was his first trophy.
