EMPEROR'S BANQUET, who managed just one win from eight starts in Australia, continued to make impressive progress in Singapore with his third win in five starts when taking out the Class 3 - 1400m handicap at Kranji here today.

Partnered by regular jockey Barend Vorster, the four-year-old came from just off the pace to beat INDICIO by one length after a tense tussle in a home stretch.

"He was a class above the rest of the field and it showed today," said Vorster who had to overcome a wide draw for his victory.

Meanwhile, Manoel Nunes was back in the winner's circle with his second treble of the year after drawing a blank on Friday, scoring on SWEET LODGE, SMART IDEA and COOL CUSTOMER.

The finish of the day came in the Graduation - 1200m sprint when STRUBELI and GATO NEGRO could not be separated by the photo and a dead-heat was declared.
