Apprentice Chin lands first
career win

After 14 months of trying,
apprentice Chin Kok Keong finally landed his first winner when given an
armchair ride by TOP GUN in the Restricted Maiden - 1200m here today.
The Australian gelding
overcame a wide draw to win by eight lengths in a time of 1min. 10.7secs.
It was only the second
start for the two-year-old who was purchased by his trainer Stephen Cook for
A$22,000 at the Horses In Training Sale.
Chin was one of six graduates of the Perak
Turf Club Apprentice Training Academy last year.
