Fox Command back in charge in Cup

KUALA LUMPUR:  Jan 11, 2014

FOX COMMAND, winner of the Coronation Cup in November 2011, returned to winning form for the first time since that famous victory to capture the RM75,000 Carlsberg Golden Success Cup at Sungei Besi here today.

While feature races are normally held towards the tailend of a day's programme, Selangor Turf Club chose to kick off their 2014 calendar with the 1200m set-weight event.

FOX COMMAND finished second in the Coronation Cup in 2012, his only showing that year and managed a second placing from six starts last year.

Which explained why he was neglected in the betting and paid RM159f for a win today when ridden by apprentice Mohd Fakruddin Abdul Rahman for the first time.

It was the fifth win in 26 starts in the country for FOX COMMAND who had a win at Kilmore and several "city" placings in 13 starts in Australia.
