Apprentice Lee lands first win on Cabrera

PENANG:  Dec 21, 2014

Rookie apprentice Lee Chun Tik's search for his maiden win ended when he partnered CABRERA to victory in a Class 4 - 1200m sprint here today.

Prior to today, the Lim Hoon Seng apprentice had ridden 30 times for two second and three third placings. Lee has three rides today and he made no mistake with his second of the afternoon.

He tucked CABRERA just behind the two leaders BLACK VISCOUNT and LONGMA in the soft going.

BLACK VISCOUNT took a clear lead at the top of the straight when LONGMA was beaten. Lee then sent CABRERA through on the inside of the leader and hit the front 200m out.

WHITE PILLOW came with a late bid in the closing stages but CABRERA held on well to win by one length.
