Ocean Fantasy gets overdue

OCEAN FANTASY stepped up on
three good recent showings against the top horses to win the Metro B
set-weight event over 1600m at Sungei Besi here today.
On this track two weeks
ago, the Australian gelding beat all but REBEL FURY in the Tunku Gold Cup
over 1200m. Prior to that, the six-year-old ran fourth to MONSILI in the
Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Gold Cup (2000m) and was sixth to TAICHI MASTER in the
Coronation Cup (1600m).
Brazilian jockey Jose De
Souza had him placed third on settling down and made his move at the top of
the straight, taking the lead at the 200m. VOLPISTA threw out a challenge on
his inside but OCEAN FANTASY was too strong, winning by one and
three-quarter lengths.
It was his fifth win in 21
starts but his first in 12 months.
