Fujin Bright shines with third consecutive win

Hideyuki Takaoka, the trainer with the midas touch with stayers, seems to have done it again with FUJIN BRIGHT.

The gelding was a maiden in Japan managing just two fourth placings in five starts.

His Singapore campaign started off with two last-place finishes early last year. But FUJIN BRIGHT soon began to find his feet and is growing from strength to strength.

Ridden by Alan Munro, the five-year-old made it three consecutive wins when he ran down the pacemaker GOODPACK to win the Kranji Stakes C - 1900m on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

"He was running nervous and coming from Japan he found it difficult to adjust to the weather here," said Takaoka who won four of the last six Singapore Gold Cups.
