Big upset by nine-year-old Hear Me 

SINGAPORE:  May 9, 2014

He may be nine years old but HEAR ME showed that he can still pack a gallop when he recorded his ninth career win in the Kranji Stakes C - 1200m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

Despite winning back-to-back races earlier from just three starts this season, the New Zealand gelding started as the rank outsider in the ten-horse field and paid $372 for a win.

With apprentice Dellorto Pregasam in the saddle, HEAR ME came from last at the home turn to run down the leaders one by one to win by three-quarter length, giving his rider his second win of the season from 18 rides.

CASTOR, the first two-year-old trained by David Kok, won the fifth and final lead-up race to next Friday's Aushorse Golden Horseshoe event.

It was the second race start for the Australian gelding which Kok purchased for A$80,000 at the Horses In Training Sale.
