Space Invader finds the mark after lapse

PENANG:  Feb 8, 2014

Nine-year-old SPACE INVADER benefited from a change of stables recently to score first-up for his new trainer Leong Poh Keong here today.

SPACE INVADER is a money-spinner with seven previous wins but his last success was achieved in September 2012.

His recent habit of standing flat-footed at the jump saw him finish down the field in his last three starts.

SPACE INVADER again found himself in the rear bunch today but champion jockey Jai Shankar was able to bring him home with a well-timed run to beat ACTUARIAL TALENT in a thrilling finish to win by a head.

Another galloper to benefit from a change of trainer was DIVINE POWER who recently came under Bonny Ng.

The Australian gelding went one better than his last-start second to win easily in the opening event for his third win in 31 starts.
