Robyn Jensen, the new face
on the block amongst the trainers at Sungei Besi, was off the mark when she
saddled TOMORROWS DREAMS to win a Class 4 - 1300m handicap at her home based
here today, and it was a shocker.
The former Singapore
galloper was having his third start in the country after crossing the border
four months ago.
Having finished down the
field in his last two outings, the Australian gelding started as the rank
outsider, the only runner in the 11-horse field to show three-figure
dividend.
Apprentice Mohd Aizat Abdul
Malik had the
five-year-old well back in the early running and switch him to the outside
of a bunch of horses passing the 400m.
TOMORROWS DREAMS, who
managed just one win in 27 starts at Kranji, never looked like winning until
the final 50m when he swept past the leaders in a matter of strides to win
by one and a quarter lengths, returning RM777 for a win.
Jensen was assistant
trainer to her husband Barry Brogan for many years before taking up her own
licence in August and elected to train under her maiden name.
