Juglall makes dream start at Kranji

Mauritian jockey Nooresh Juglall made a dream start to his Singapore campaign when he scored on his only ride astride MAJESTIC MOMENTS in the Restricted Maiden - 1200m event at Kranji here today.

Visa paperwork delayed the start to his three-month stint which was scheduled to begin on Jun 1 but Juglall more than made up for the wait with a superb display on the debutant MAJESTIC MOMENTS.

Birthday boy Corey Brown set the pace on TROPPO FORTE with MAJESTIC MOMENTS trapped in traffic making the home turn.

But Juglall managed to weave his way between runners and managed to catch TROPPO FORTE in the shadows of the winning post to win by a head.

The ride demonstrated just why he was the top apprentice in South Africa, where he spent five years honing his skills, for two consecutive seasons in 2011/12 and 2012/13.

"It’s always been my dream to ride in Singapore. I never expected I would win at my very first ride, and now I’ve done it. It’s a dream come true," said a jubilant Juglall on return to scale.

Brown, however, was not to denied on his birthday. He went to land three winners.
