Juglall lands first double in Singapore

Mauritian jockey Nooresh Juglall achieved his first double in Singapore when he partnered TWODOLLARMUPPET and SPINNING SUCCESS to victory at Kranji here today.

TWODOLLARMUPPET, stepping up on a creditable fifth in his debut three weeks ago, came with well-timed run to beat the favourite RACER KING ($16) by half a length in the Perth Racing Trophy. He paid $27 for a win.

The win by SPINNING SUCCESS in the Australian Turf Club Trophy, though, was a shocker for punters.

Winless since November last year and finishing down the field in his last five starts, the Australian five-year-old also beat the favourite BLOSSOMS SEQUEL by three-quarter of a length to pay $261 for a win. It was his fifth win in 34 outings.

The double brings Juglall's tally to six in the five weeks he has been in action in Singapore.
