Laxon celebrates 1100th win with Helen

Trainer Laurie Laxon saddled his 1100th winner in Singapore when HELEN made all the running to win the Initiation race over 1000m on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

By sheer coincidence, it was the dam of HELEN who provided the veteran Kiwi trainer with his very first win in Singapore back in 2000. TORCH, who won two races in New Zealand, was renamed STREISAND when he came to Singapore and picked three more wins at Kranji.

HELEN is the fifth produce of TORCH to race in Singapore and it was success at her very start under the guidance of Rueven Ravindra, last season's champion apprentice in Malaysia who has made a successful transition to racing in Singapore.

HELEN is a half-sister to CLINT, winner of the 2011 Emirates Singapore Derby.
