Laxon stretches lead with treble

SINGAPORE:  Dec 12, 2014

Laurie Laxon saddled three winners at Kranji here tonight to take a three-win cushion into the final day of the Singapore racing season on Sunday.

Alwin Tan, who sent out four winners last Sunday to close the gap to just two winners behind Laxon, had a double of his own to keep his slim hope of a first-ever title alive.

Tan started the evening with runaway winner ART OF WAR before Laxon replied with TO BE REMEMBERED.

Tan saddled his second winner of the meeting when PLATOON beat the Laxon-trained MEXICAN GAL in the Class 4, Div 2 - 1200m sprint but Laxon had the last laugh when he won the last two races if the evening with RATHAUSGLOCKEL and EURO ZONE.

RATHAUSGLOCKEL, a debut winner only two weeks ago, made it two wins from two with a runaway win.

The score going into the final day is 80-77 in favour of Laxon who is odds-on to win his 10th title in Singapore.
