Trainer Leong steals show with treble

Veteran trainer Leong Poh Keong took centre stage at his home base here today when he saddled three winners, and in one race provided the first three finishers.

The former jockey saddled FEARED to a runaway win in the opening event and three races later, saw HALO INSPIRE finished way ahead of stablemates LEGAL LORD and DIRAC.

FEARED won his debut in Singapore in 2010 and after just two more starts, found his way to Malaysia where he has scored six more times in 55 starts.

HALO INSPIRE has now won three times in 16 starts for Leong.

CHINESE STREET showed that he can still raise a galloper at 10 years when he gave Leong his third winner of the day.

The Australian gelding failed to score in 18 starts in Singapore but has chalked up eight wins in 70 starts in Malaysia.
