Emperor Max maintains unbeaten record

Despite a big step up in class, EMPEROR MAX conquered some big names to maintain his unbeaten record in Singapore in the Kranji Stakes A - 1200m sprint at Kranji here today.

Winner of two races from five starts in Australia, the gelding won his debut in Class 4, landed a double in Class before accounting for a Benchmark 83 field last time out.

In his biggest test yet today, he was up against MR BIG, GOAL KEEPER, RED BEARD and the champion juvenile of 2013 WAR AFFAIR who was returned to racing after a spell.

But EMPEROR MAX proved too good for them all, winning by one and a quarter lengths ahead of WAR AFFAIR.

"I couldn’t be confident going into the race with so many good horses in it," said trainer Stephen Gray. "But this horse keeps improving all the time."

Lisa Allpress has ridden EMPEROR MAX in all his five wins thus far.
