Being out of action for two
12-month periods in the last two years has not stopped RIE'S PET from
winning again in a Class 4 - 1200m sprint here today.
Right after scoring his
second in March 2012, the Australian six-year-old was out of action for a
year before coming back in March last year.
After two races that month,
RIE'S PET was sidelined again but he returned a winner when he scored a
gutsy win, getting home by a nose over the in-form PADDY'S PARK.
It was a hard earned but
significant victory for promising apprentice Amirul Ismadi as it was his
10th win.
Eight-year-old Malaysian
bred TRIPLE COIN showed that he can still raise a galloper despite his age
when he cruised to an easy win in a Class 5 - 1100m handicap. It was his
seventh win in 53 starts.
