Another Shankar double, trainer Chong shines

IPOH:  Jan 5, 2014

Newly-crowned champion jockey Jai Shankar continued his superb start to the new season with a double here today, matching his two-winner feat yesterday.

LEGAL LORD, who last won in September 2012, bounced back to winning ways with an easy victory in the Langkawi Mangrove Forest Handicap.

Shankar has to work harder for his win astride last-start winner NOTHING TO LOOSE.

Trainer Chong Keng Leong, the trainer of NOTHING TO LOOSE, saddled a treble to spearhead home trainers to win six of the seven races today.

His other two winners were CLAYBURY and HOHOHO, the latter now winner of three of his six starts.
