Veteran galloper SHAOLIN
SOLDIER returned to form after more than 13 months with an easy victory in
the Enrich Stakes A set-weight event over 1200m here today, giving new
trainer Ooi Chin Chin his second winner since making his bow just over five
weeks ago.
It was also the eight-year-old's
first success in Malaysia since crossing the causeway at the end of last
year.
Ridden by Yudanyl Aify,
SHAOLIN SOLIDER was the first to break and led early. But he eased back to
sit third behind HUMBLE PRINCE who took up the running on settling down.
RIE'S PET overtook HUMBLE
PRINCE at the 250m but SHAOLIN SOLDIER quickly raced up to him and drew away
to win by three and three-quarter lengths.
Ipoh trainer Chong Keng
Leong continued good recent run to saddle three winners from a card of
seven, providing the day's biggest shock when two-year-old GREAT SCOTT made
a winning debut in the Restricted Maiden - 1300m event. The Australian
gelding paid RM92 for a win.
