The Penang races here
today, run in heavy going after days of rain, started with an upset and
ended with an even bigger shock.
KIM PROTECTOR, who scored
once in soft going over the same track and distance last year, returned to
form to win the opening event to pay RM63 for a win.
It was the gelding's third
win in 25 starts and only jockey Razali Musa's fifth win of the season.
JUST BLESSED, who has been
very disappointing since notching his second win last March, sprang back to
form to score a runaway win in the final event and paid RM219 for a win.
The gelding was originally
purchased by trainer Chong Keng Leong for A$18,000 as a yearling but started
his career in Singapore, where he picked up one win, but is now trained by
Dr Tan Swee Hock.
