Apprentice Tham Kin Chong
took the final day of racing in Ipoh by storm today when he won four
consecutive races and finished second in his only other ride of the
afternoon.
Three of Tham's four
winners were prepared by his master Nor Azman which put some shine into an
otherwise disappointing season by his master's own standard.
Success with UNDOUBTEDLY
CLEVER, LUCK SUCCESS and LITTLE BUT FIERCE late in the programme brought
Azman's tally to 19 for the season, a far cry from the respectable 34 wins
in his first full season in 2012 and well below his 26-winner haul last
year.
With three more racing days
left in the 2014 season, Azman will have a chance to improve his score for
the year.
Tham, meanwhile, is assured
of the Champion Apprentice title in just his second season in the saddle. He
is currently sixth in the table with 26 winners compared with 12 last year.
