Three-year-olds began their
hunt for a place in this year's RM200,000 Malaysian 3YO Championship final
to be held later this year with two heats being run here today. But the
favourite in both races were soundly beaten.
BIG TSUNAMI, who had a win and three placings
from five starts, started even-money but found one to beat in PISCES STAR,
beaten by two and a half lengths, over the 1100m straight course.
PISCES STAR had won four of his previous 13
starts but has not tasted success this season.
ACE SURPRISE started the even-money favourite
in the next heat over 1200m after winning both his previous two runs but
could managed only fourth.
It was the fourth pick in the betting, NOTHING
TO LOSE, who triumphed by three-quarter length from the second favourite
BALOTELLI. Two more
heats will be staged at Sungei Besi and Penang before the Selangor Turf Club
hosts the final on Jun 14.
