Twickenham touches down for hat-trick

TWICKENHAM has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in Singapore after chalking up a third consecutive win in the Class 3 - 1400m handicap at Kranji here today.

The Australian three-year-old, bought for A$115,000 at the Horses In Training Sale, only began racing in April this year, finishing unplaced in his debut.

But TWICKENHAM was quickly stepped up to win his next three starts.

Although it wasn't regular jockey Corey Brown's intention to lead, the pair found themselves in front after the start and stayed there throughout to win by one a a quarter lengths.

"I was looking around for someone to lead, but I got left there. It worked out good in the end," said Brown.

"He’s probably one of the best horses I’ve ever trained,” trainer Stephen Gray declared after the win. “After EMPEROR MAX of course."

That's how highly Gray regards TWICKENHAM.
