DAAD'S THE WAY gets the ball rolling for Zuriman - SNTC photo

Zuriman Che Zulfikli was the toast of the apprentices when the lads stole the show from the seniors, winning nine of the 12 races contested at Kranji here today.

Zuriman had five rides for his master Bruce Marsh, winning three of them and was narrowly beaten into second in one.

Zuriman showed that way with the aptly-named DAAD'S THE WAY who scored his eighth career wins but his first since January last year in the Class 4 - 1600m handicap on the polytrack.

Zuriman quickly followed up in the next race with a hard-fought victory on STANZOUT who has out of the winner's circle since June last year. The eight-year-old won by a neck and it was however his eighth win as well.

Zuirman made it three consecutive winning rides when he again had to work hard to gain victory on SUPERNOVA who won by a neck in the Benchmark 89 - 1400m handicap, the main event of the day. The New Zealand gelding has now seven wins from just 16 starts.

Zuriman's treble came on the heels of his first group win on KNIGHT'S COMMAND in the Group 3 Admiralty Classic Stakes last Sunday.

"The boy was riding well even before he won his first feature race but it was definitely a boost for him," said Marsh.
