ABSOLUTELY storms home on the outside to clinch the Three Rings

The once powerful Auric Stable landed their first trophy for many years when ABSOLUTELY came from last at the home turn to win the S$200,000 Three Rings Trophy (1400m) at Kraniji here today.

And for the successful rider Craig Newitt, it was his first group win in his first six-month stint since Jan 1 and his first partnership with the New Zealand gelding who was racing first-up after a three-month break.

Auric Stable used to dominated the local scene with a stable full of expensive imports and has won practically every major race in Singapore and Malaysia.

But it was a modest buy, picked up by trainer Cliff Brown for just NZ$27,500 at the Ready To Run sale which broke their trophy drought.

ABSOLUTELY has been a model of consistency, finishing unplaced just once, in the El Dorado Classic last October, in nine starts which has brought him four wins, two seconds and two thirds.

"I will give him a break now as the Polytrack races are coming up and probably find a 1400m race for him next. The mile will be ok for him and the 4YO series is what I have planned for him," said Bown.
