Kam's Comet flies to AmCham Cup success

Manoel Nunes, who piloted KAM'S COMET to a hat-trick earlier in the season, resumed partnership with the New Zealand gelding after three outings and they immediately enjoyed another success in the S$100,000 The AmCham Cup (Benchmark 89 - 1100m) on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.

The four-year-old enjoyed a dream run on the fence in the seven-horse field and they coasted home by two and a half lengths from the favourite MYCAPTAINOBLIVIOUS.

Second favourite KIWI KARMA, who was racing after a four-month break, threw away his chances after he knuckled over at the start and finished fourth.

"I wanted to ride Kiwi Karma but Mike (Clements) thought she had too much weight on her back and booked Kif (Toh) instead. I got on KAM'S COMET instead and it’s worked out good," said Nunes who partnered KIWI KARMA to a hat-trick last year and again earlier this season.

KAM'S COMET, who cost just NZ$12,000 as a yearling, has now five wins, a second and a third from nine starts.
