Emperor Qian Long reigns again

Veteran galloper EMPEROR QIAN LONG marked his 100th start with a comeback win in the opening race here today, demonstrating that there is plenty of fire left him despite being 10 years old.

Purchased for A$80,000 as a weanling, the Australian gelding began racing in 2008 and notched one win each in 2009 and 2010 in Singapore.

Sent over to Malaysia in 2011, EMPEROR QIAN LONG continued to make his mark. Today's win was his ninth in Malaysia and his third this year.

Jockey Yazid Kamal reached a milestone in his career when he notched up his 80th career win on ECLAIR SENSATION in the final event.

After missing last weekend's races when he work permit was not in order, Jose De Souza made it count with a win on FLEDGELING.
