No joy punters as three lads celebrate

It's the first day of Hari Raya, and Tunku Rehaizat, Syafiq Hazman and Zuriman Zulkifli celebrated the occasion with a winner each at Kranji here today. However, punters found little joy in their success.

Rehaizat, who had only two winners to show this season prior to today, scored back-to-back wins on HIGH TROJA in the Benchmark 67 - 1600m handicap. Although the Irish gelding won his last start in Kranji Stakes D event, he went off at generous odds, paying S$41 for a win.

"He has just changed stables and with a new stable, you sometimes get a new horse," said Rehaizat. HIGH TROJA was placed twice in six runs for Hideyuki Takaoka before moving to trainer Mohd Yusof who has now raced him four times for two wins.

Syafiq, with only three previous wins this year, partnered newcomer LIM'S SINCERE to a shock win in the Initiation - 1000m sprint on the polytrack. The Australian two-year-old beat a field of mostly older horses to pay $177.

Zuriman provided the biggest shock of the afternoon when he piloted KEVIN ELEVEN to victory in the Class 4 - 1200m sprint. It was the second win by the five-year-old after a lapse of 12 months. The gelding paid $223.
