Alexandra Palace regains glory with gutsy win

ALEXANDRA PALACE, who won first-up in Singapore last July, bounced back to form when he carved out a narrow win in the Benchmark 89 - 1600m handicap at Kranji here tonight.

Ridden by regular partner Nooresh Juglall, the five-year-old gelding came from just off the pace to win by a nose from the first three favourites.

"The slow pace didn’t suit him tonight and that’s why I had to get moving early on him. He fought really hard to just put his nose in front on the line," said Juglall. "I still think he’s not 100% fit."

ALEXANDRA PALACE, who raced five times at three in his native South African for two wins including a listed race and a second placing, campaigned his the UAE a four where he picked up a win and a third from four runs at Meydan.

Since winning his Singapore debut, ALEXANDRA PALACE has finished down the field in four starts.
