PEACE NO WAR might have
recorded his first two wins on the turf, but the Australian four-year-old is
proving to be more at home on the polytrack after he scored his fourth win
on the surface in the S$100,000 Canada Cup at Kranji here tonight.
Corey Brown had ridden the
gelding thrice before without success, but the fourth time proved to be a
charm as PEACE NO WAR battled hard to win by half a length in the Benchmark
83 - 1200m sprint.
It was the sixth win in 16
starts for PEACE NO WAR who was purchased by his trainer Michael Freedman as
a yearling for A$70,000.
Since winning his first
start on the polytrack in November 2013, PEACE NO WAR has raced exclusively
on the surface, except for his last start last Jan 30 when he finished fifth
of seven runners.
"He had always shown
superior form on Polytrack before," said Freedman. "“I think it’s kinder to
his legs as he did sustain a fractured sesamoid early in his career."
