Double strike for Robert in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR:  Nov 28, 2015

Cecil Robert became the first trainer to find success away from home after the outbreak of equine influenze which forced the cancellation of races in Malaysia for several weeks since late August.

Racing in Malaysia resumed early September but the early meetings were confined to home-based horses, until this weekend in Kuala Lumpur after the ban on the movement of horses was lifted.

In fact, Penang based Robert saddled a double and was the only outstation trainer to strike at Sungei Besi here today.

His first winner was the seasoned campaigner WIND OF SUCCESS, who at eight years is racing in the form of his life.

Robert took over the Australian gelding after the retirement of Dr Tan Swee Hock and has now won three times in four starts with him. In all, WIND OF SUCCESS has 10 wins in 60 starts.

Robert's other winner CIZEN BROTHER won for the first time in four starts under him. The Australian gelding also won three times for Dr Tan.
