My Lucky Strike on target for seventh time

Beaten favourite when second in the Korea Racing Authority Trophy two weeks ago, MY LUCKY STRIKE made amends when he easily accounted for seven rivals in the Kranji Stakes B - 1000m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here today, a special holiday to mark Singapore's 50th anniversary.

The Australian gelding had triumphed in a Kranji Stakes A event over the course and distance early last month but found SUPER WINNER too smart last time out.

Undeterred, punters sent him out odds-on favourite today and MY LUCKY STRIKE repaid the faith when he came from off the pace to win drawing away by two and a half lengths ahead of last start winner BELLWETHER with KAM'S COMET, winner of his last three starts, in third place.

It was the seventh win in nine starts in Singapore for MY LUCKY STRIKE who was placed once each at Caulfield and Sandown from three starts in Melbourne before arriving in Singapore.

He was gelded a month after arrival and the decision paid off when he was unbeaten in his first four starts at Kranji.
