Super One too good in Juvenile Championship

SUPER ONE lived up to his name when he trashed his nine rivals to win the Group 3 S$200,000 Juvenile Championship (1200m) at Kranji here today.

In winning bu five lengths after leading from start to finish, the Australian colt stretched his unbeaten record to four wins and possibly earned a ticket to contest the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Oct 31.

"I’ll have to see how he pulls up first and then look at the programme and the quarantine procedures. If we go down, he has to leave by Sep 26," said trainer Michael Freedman.

"The first thing I asked Corey (Brown) after he jumped off was what he reckoned about his chances in Australia, and he told me he would be the right horse to take there."

Brown has won numerous Group 1 races Down Under including the 2009 Melbourne Cup astride SHOCKING.

SUPER ONE's success today came on the heels of his equally impressive win in the Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe on May 15. He was bought by Freedman for A$190,000 as a yearling.
