GYPSY MAGIC (Jack Toeroek) gets the better of PURE WHITE

It took Jake Teoroek just two unplaced rides, one each on Friday and today, before finding his way into the winners circle at Kranji in his first overseas stint, the reward of being named the Dux of the South Australian Apprentice School.

The two-time champion Adelaide apprentice, 21, has ridden close to 200 winners and it was easy to see why, the way he rode with superb confidence to land GYPSY MAGIC a half-length winner in the Class 5, Div 2 - 1100m sprint on the polytrack here today.

Toeroek parked GYPSY MAGIC just off the pace behind the pacemaker PURE WHITE before overhauling the leader to win by half a length.

The nine-year-old gelding has now won 10 races in 99 starts stretching back to 2009.

Teoroek thus joined earlier Duxes Amy Herrmann, Krystal Bishop and Jamie Kah in the winning list at Kranji.

"Every win is a thrill, but to come out here and ride a winner is just sensational, indescribable," said Toereok.

Toeroek then doubled his score in his only other ride of the afternoon when he partnered GREAT SUN to victory in the final event. The four-year-old made it back-to-back wins and his third from 10 starts.
