Truson too good in JRA Trophy

TRUSON continued his remarkable progress by taking out the RM55,000 Japan Racing Association Trophy here today.

With apprentice Wong Kam Chong in the saddle, the Australian three-year-old came from just off the pace early, then cleared away from his seven rivals to win as he liked by three and a half lengths in the 1000m set-weight event.

Two starts back, TRUSON was still racing and winning in Class 4. Promoted to Class 3, the gelding lost no marks when he finished third last time out.

TRUSON, who landed unraced, has now five wins, three seconds and a third from as many starts. He was sold for A$16,000 as a yearling but was passed in at the Ready 2 Race two-year-old sale at just A$27,500.
