Veteran gallopers fight for upset win

KUALA LUMPUR:  Nov 21, 2015

Veteran gallopers MYSTIC WARRIOR and BULL AND BEAR provided two of the three big upsets of the afternoon at Sungei Besi here today.

Punters were caught on the wrong foot in the opening event when seven-year-old MYSTIC WARRIOR (RM323) battled to a neck-win for his third win in 31 starts.

In the very next race, COMONBABY (RM195) showed up for the first time in seven starts, leading all the way and battled on to win by a short head.

Both horses are trained by Johnny Lim and gave jockey Bukhari Abdul Hamid a rare double.

BULL AND BEAR (RM159) also narrowly made it in the final event, beating off the joint favourite TRUE HERITAGE by short head. It was the sixth win in 66 starts for the eight-year-old.
