Trainer Alwin Tan consolidated his lead in the premiership with three winners at Kranji here tonight.

Success with RAINBOW ROYAL, SMART MASTER and BIG BANKER brought his tally to 79 for the season, placing him 12 winners ahead of second-placed Patrick Shaw.

With just 10 racing days to go before the conclusion of the 2016 season, its looking good for a home grown champion since Charles Leck in 2003.

RAINBOW ROYAL made all the running to record his second win in seven starts.

SMART MASTER caused a surprise when he notched his first win in eight outings.

And it's two wins from 19 for BIG BANKER who came from well off the pace early to run away with the Class 5 - 1700m handicap, all races tonight run on the polytrack.

"My horses are running well and it’s (championship) looking good. It’s all a team’s work and also good planning," said Tan, a former assistant to Leck.
