last-to-first upset win

| LA FAMILIA charges home to win the
Mauritius Turf Club Trophy |

LA FAMILIA came back in distance
after winning over the mile last time out but still proved too good in the
RM55,000 Mauritius Turf Club Trophy here today.
And what a performance the six-year-old put up. Last early in the Cosmo C
set-weight event over 1300m, he made up some ground but was still a long way
from the leaders making the turn into the straight.
But under apprentice Khairil
Zulkiflee, LA FAMILIA picked up the leaders one by one
in the heavy going to win drawing away by half a length, causing an upset
with a RM72 payout.
LA FAMILIA was purchased by the Penang Turf Club for A$35,000 as a yearling
and has now picked up six wins in 30 starts.
There was an even bigger surprise in the final event when MOLLY BROWNE
bounced back after a long sequence of outs to pay RM106 for a win. It was
her third win in 26 starts.
