Rainbow Future in shock comeback win

RAINBOW FUTURE showed up for the first time since mid-2014 when he claimed back-to-back races to cause a big surprise in the opening race here today.

With his recent hardly inspiring, punters ignored the New Zealand five-year-old but the gelding was able to come from well off the pace early to beat the well-backed ENCOSTA ZONA by three-quarter length, with the odds-on favourite TRUE HERITAGE a well-beaten third.

RAINBOW FUTURE, who paid RM159, was purchased by trainer Wayne Lim for NZ$32,500 as the Ready To Run sale.

Another surprise of the afternoon came from JUST VITAL who showed up for the first time in nine starts to take a Class 5 - 1200m sprint. He paid RM107.
