Gazoo going great guns in Malaysia

GAZOO, who managed just one win in 13 starts in Singapore, has picked up his second win in Malaysia since crossing the causeway in July last year.

The Australian gelding made his Malaysian debut last October, after nearly a year out of action, and immediately made an impact when he finished third in his first two outings in the country before winning his last start last month.

Ridden by Ruzaini Supien for the first time today, GAZOO started odds-on and proved too good for his rivals, winning by 2-1/4 lengths in a Class 4 - 1200m sprint.

Trainer Johnny Lim and his former apprentice Harmeet Singh Gill rolled back the years when they combined to win two races with SEGAR THE BEST and TAKEAIM.

Lim went on to chalk up a third win with RED EASTERN.

BELWINS showed that at nine years, there is plenty of fire left in him. Unplaced in his last nine starts, the Australian gelding bounced back to for to record his ninth win in 67 starts in the opening event.
