A recent switch of trainer to Tan Hor Khoon paid rich dividends for GOOD NEWS after the five-year-old romped to victory in the S$250,000 Korea Racing Authority Trophy at Kranji here today.

Well off the pace in the early running the Australian gelding came charging home on the outside of horses to claim victory by one length in the set-weight event over 1200m.

"This horse has been with me for only a short while, but he’s proven himself to be a very genuine individual," said Tan. "He got over some ulcer issue after his last start and his work has been good leading up to this race."

GOOD NEWS won seven races with Alwin Tan but Hor Khoon has picked up two wins in four starts with the gelding, with Benny Woodworth as his new regular rider.

PARANG JUUIBO did best of the three Korean runners in this reciprocal race with the Korean Racing Authority, finishing sixth. The other two, TRIPLE FIVE and ALWAYS WINNER, finished ninth and tenth of 10 runners.

After this wins, Tan said GOOD NEWS in on course to contest the Korea Sprint (1200m) in Seoul on Sept 11. A rematch with the Korea horses await.
