Showboy makes it two-from-two

SHOWBOY made it two wins from two starts with an impressive display in the Premium race for three and four-year-olds here today.

And for trainer Sharee Hamilton, it was her best afternoon yet with three winners, putting her in joint lead with Johnny Lim and Anna Scott with five winners apiece.

Hamilton, who was granted her licence last year, paid NZ$25,000 for SHOWBOY at the Ready To Run sale.

Following his win in Restricted Maiden company last month, the New Zealand gelding was sent off a raging odds-on favourite today.

Racing behind the pace early, apprentice Khairil Zulkiflee hugged the rails throughout and he took an opening on the inside of pacemaker RUFFLE THE RUFIAN in the home stretch to win by one length. He paid RM7.

Earlier, Khairil also booted home RUBY DANE for Hamilton while the trainer's first success of the day came with MR VICTORY.
