Intention bags JRA Goodwill Trophy

INTENTION, placed five times in 10 starts at Kranji but unable to make the breakthrough, has earned his second minor trophy in Malaysia with a hard-fought win in the RM55,000 JRA Goodwill Trophy here today.

With apprentice Lim Aun Kean astride, the Australian gelding was quickly out of the gate in the Enrich Stakes A set-weight event over 1200m and set a brisk pace.

The five-year-old then held off all challengers to win in a photo-finish.

INTENTION won his Malaysian debut in late 2014 and picked up three more wins last year under trainer Evelyn Seet including the Equine Nutrition Australasia Trophy (1400m) on this same track last July.
