No Nonsense afternoon for Kumaran

Trainer PS Kumaran enjoyed his best ever afternoon when he saddled three winners at Sungei Besi here today, and it started with a horse who was racing for him for only the second time.

RUBICON, who failed to show up in eight starts in Singapore and had one run with another trainer before coming under his care, came from last at the home turn to snatch victory by 1 1/4 lengths to pay RM199 for a win.

Kumaran next sent out BUKIT SUBANG to the gelding's second win in 26 starts. His maiden win came 24 months ago and has been placed several times after that.

NO NONSENSE then wound up a superb afternoon for Kumaran by taking out the final event. It was the gelding's maiden win in 18 starts, including 10 at Kranji.
