Laus Deo on the upgrade

It has been a long while since former MRA champion trainer Malcolm Thwaites last had a top-flight galloper under his charge.

And LAUS DEO could be the horse to bring him back to the limelight once again.

The Australian gelding chalked up his sixth win in 11 starts when he won the Singapore Turf Club Trophy over 1100m at Sungei Besi here today.

Ridden by apprentice WK Lee, the five-year-old won by half-a-length from the fast-finishing stablemate RIGHTEO.

Thwaites personally picked out the son of God's Own at the Inglis Ready2Race sale and secured him for A$65,000.
