MACARTHUR made all the running to
claim the S$90,000 IRT Juvenile Stakes at Kranji here tonight to emerge as
one of the contenders for the Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe on Jul 8.
With much expected of the newcomer CAORUNN and two-time winner JUPITER GOLD
also in the line-up in the fourth leg of the series for two-year-olds,
MACARTHUR started at $41 despite winning his last start.
The Charge Forward gelding jumped smartly and never surrendered his lead
although hard pressed by ATHENA and JUPITER GOLD in the final 100m.
JUPITER GOLD was going for third win in-a-row, which speaks volumes of the
credentials of the winner who has now wins and a third from three starts.
"He’s
a pretty bombproof horse. Tonight, he flew the gates and jumped two lengths
in front," said Vlad Duric, "Once he crossed to the rails, he was able to
dictate. I know his turn of foot and he again showed a real good kick in the
straight."
