MESSI scored for the second time in the space of seven days, perhaps giving us another reminder that the new football season in Spain is about to kick off.

MESSI drew a blank since May last year and only found his winning touch again here last week when he accounted for four rivals in a Class 4 - 1600m handicap.

Although meeting slightly stronger opposition in a similar event today, the Commands seven-year-old backed up his form last week to win by one length for his fourth win in 34 starts.

ORIENTAL SPIRIT, winless since January last year, produced the shock of the day, taking the final event to pay RM184. It was the gelding's third win in 19 starts.
