Mosse off the mark on Deimos

World renowned jockey Gerald Mosse was quick to make his mark in Singapore when he booted home DEIMOS to win the Restricted Maiden - 1100m event on the polytrack at Kranji today.

The much travelled Frenchman, who has made guest appearances in Singapore previously, began a two-month stint in Singapore last Friday and DEIMOS was only his third ride this term.

DEIMOS jumped well but Mosse had to overcome a wide draw on the gelding who was placed in his previous two starts.

"He was pretty straight forward to ride and can continue to improve," said Mosse of his mount.

"I am so happy to get off the mark early on. I think it is vital to do that, wherever you are racing around the world."

Mosse has ridden successfully around the world and among his  big wins was a Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (SAUMAREZ, 1990) and a Melbourne Cup (AMERICAIN, 2010).
