Nothing To Lose breaks long standing record

A recent change of trainer to Peter Lee has brought about a dramatic improvement in NOTHING TO LOSE.

Since coming under the Ipoh trainer, the New Zealand gelding has won three of five starts and rewrote the 1000m record over the straight course with a hard-earned but deserving win here today. (He had managed three wins in 21 starts, twice in 2013 and once in 2014.)

Ridden by Tan Chee Kit, NOTHING TO LOSE tracked the pacemaker JAZZ IT UP and the pair were joined by BEYOND WEALTH as they fought out the Class 4 event, with NOTHNG TO LOSE winning by a neck.

NOTHING TO LOSE clocked 56.3 seconds. The previous best time of 56.5 seconds was first set by MAGICAL POWER in 1997, equalled by HARLEQUIN 10 years later and again by SPEEDY CLOUDS in 2008.

Tan went on to complete a double when he scored on MORE THAN WORDS.
