Azman rules with three winners

Ten-year-old EMPEROR QIAN LONG carved out a hard-fought win in the Class 5 - 1800m handicap to kick off a superb afternoon for trainer Nor Azman who went on to saddle two more winners.

Well back in the early running, the Australian gelding moved up swiftly rounding the home bend to be within striking distance at the top of the straight.

The veteran galloper hit the front soon after and kicked clear. His more more fancied stablemate INI KALI made a late bid but EMPEROR QIAN LONG held on to win a neck.

EMPEROR QIAN LONG, who started his career in Singapore and has come under seven trainers before Nor Azman took charge last week. His latest win was his 12th in 105 runs.

Azman won the very next race with GREAT PRINCE, a maiden winner in 21 starts, before seeing LUCK ALOT scored his fifth win for him.
